Christian Lonzaga

Coach Chris, a Sir Winston Churchill Secondary alumni, has been a dedicated youth basketball coach since his early high school days. A highly accomplished player himself, he was a three-time VSSAA City Finalist, a two-time VSSAA Junior Boys City Champion—first as a player in 2019 and later as a coach in 2025—and a three-time Provincials participant. His talent also earned him a spot on a Basketball BC team, where he competed at a high level and gained valuable experience. Motivated by his love for the game and a desire to give back, he founded Neighbourhood Sports Club to provide young athletes with the opportunity to compete at a high level under the guidance of devoted coaches—all while keeping the program accessible with reasonable pricing. His program emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, ensuring that every player, regardless of background, has the chance to grow both on and off the court. Through his leadership, the club has flourished into a supportive community where young athletes develop positive lifelong habits, build lasting memories, and form meaningful connections. His efforts have impacted countless players, giving them not only a place to improve their game but also a foundation of values that extend far beyond the court. Coach Chris wants to inspire the next generation of individuals to make a positive impact on their community, continuing the cycle of leadership, growth, and excellence.
